Okay, here's the thing.

Yellow all! =)
Thank you SO much for all the wishes on the previous post. I love you guyss :* BUT, here's your "To do List" for today.
1. Don't ask me how it was.

Yes I guess that's all. [Ps. If anyone has any idea about the compartment exams and shit, I'll be the one you'll need to contact, oh yes.]
But then I guess at times it's a disaster that actually inspires one. Here's what I came up with during the physics exam today. [Oh spare me the "WHAT? And you weren't concentrating on the paper?!" thing. Bitch please, I was totally done and over with it an hour in advance. And no, not in a good way.] SO I hope you guys know about Kanika's Fantabulous February which was a HUGE success to say the least[Even though it's over, you can go check out the posts. I participated in as many as I could with ardent enthusiasm *pats self on the back*] and while Soumi is the proud moderator of Memorable March, BluBluBling will be taking over from her for her birthday month, that is April, and THEN *hold your breath fellas*, MIND-BLOWING MAY will be moderated by yours truly. A round of applause please! No? Alrighty then :|
SO getting back to the point, I sort of had an idea for something before I become the moderator for May. Remember school? And the games they made you play in the English class[And no, I do not mean Hangman]. REMEMBER SPIN A YARN? Yes yes, I know you smartasses have figured out where I am getting with this, however, here's my formal proposal[Go on, blush and all].
Why don't we pick up an exercise where fellow bloggers come together and weave an entire story in bits and pieces, each one making a contribution whenever they feel comfortable? For instance, if I am the one who writes a short piece, and if any of you think you would want to write a sequel to it, join in? And if anyone feels THEY can write a sequel to YOUR post, they do so? And so on an so forth. So by the end of a week or a few weeks time, a network of followers on the Blogosphere manage to become the authors of a story collectively. Your piece can be as long as you want it to be. A few lines, a few paragraphs, a full page. Anything. Say whaa? Is it something you guys would want to do? [You see, I don't want to end up making a fool of myself by the end of it, so I better know your opinion =P]. If you think this is a good enough idea and would like to be a part of it, post your confirmations under this? Bombard me with your comments and suggestions on how to carry out this exercise.[ALSO, suggestions for a awe-wait for it-some name for the exercise needed!]  Let's do this, fellas! =D

  4. Ooh and people could also tell the same story as the main but through an another character's perspective. What say?
Nil and Ujjwal did that for a story once, giving a female and male perspective of the story respectively and it made for quite an interesting read! :)

    1. That is actually a great idea! ANd what do you think should be done to establish the fact that so and so person will be writing the follow up for a particular post? Calling dibs? =P

    2. I think everyone could write an addition to your post. So many alternative endings na? Like those books that had stuff like "If you think she should run away, turn to page 23 If you think she should grow a moustache turn to page 95" written at the end of the page? :D

    3. But won't that be very confusing? :(

    4. Of the "I call dibs" or the different stories?

  9. I've done this exact thing though not on any blog but more privately on Google docs. If it may help, this is how we do it :

    1. Create a Google Doc. Give it a COOL name that has nothing to do with anything in story, just so that no author feels pressurized to write towards a particular goal.

    2. Share the doc with as many people as you like. Every author logs his name on first sheet of the doc with his name and email ID both written in a particular color unique to him.

    3. Start writing! As much as you want to, feel free to change course of story, though try to maintain a homogeneous style, so that everything looks smooth.

    4. Of course - write only in the color chosen in step 3, just so that everybody can tell by only looking at the color, who was the author of this particular paragraph.

    5. Google docs support nice commenting system where you can put tags and comments on particular lines. It also supports a nice version control system. Use them as effectively as you can.

And taadaa, you've with you what I call Jambook - because you're jamming, though not with a guitar but on a book. Its an incredibly cool thing to do, I'm sure you'd luurve it.

PS : If there is a free spot, I'd love to dive in. Drop me a mail at nikhilgarg28@gmail.com :)

    1. This is a really cool plan!:) But I sort of wanted it to be more of a blog thing. But I think we could all vote and decide which of the two we're more comfortable with, yeah? Thank you so much for dropping by and sharing this great piece of information with us! :) Oh and by all means, jump in! You make eight! =D

  11. I second Diwita. You do not puppy eyes to make us join in this. I'm in. And instead of keeping it private using the Google Docs thing, once you know who all will be doing this, just announce someone as the starting point. That person will post on his/her blog. Then you could post a linkback to that on your blog and have the message sent to your faithful followers who are participating (will take some work and help will be provided!). Then on, everyone links back to the next and previous parts of the story and to your blogpost as well. This way, readers get to read the posts on every individual blog, so it would give the feel of having been written by a lot of different kind of people. Whatsay? :)

    1. Hey I h=thought I could be the starting point!=P No that doesn't sound very nice OR appropriate, but you get the gist of it, right? =P Yeah that is exactly what I thought about. You know, it sort of builds the blogging network. So in a way, people on my blog who don't know each other get to interact and discover new wonderfully creative minds in the blogging world! :)

    2. I would have suggested that anyway. :P
And yeah, exactly what you said. :)
